What’s a good string to hybrid with luxilon big banger power alu?
I’m a competitive junior tennis player who plays a lot of sectional and national tournaments, I’m currently using the prince exo3 black racquet and am using luxilon big banger power alu strings, I’m looking for a good string to hybrid the luxilon with. I’m looking for something that will offer more touch and feel and soften up my string bed. I’m not a really big hitter, I’m more about shot placement and working the point until I find an opening. I’m a counter-puncher for the most part. I’m not really big either, I’m only 5’4″ and weigh about 115 pounds. Any recommendations? Also, would anyone recommend a different type of luxilon string instead of power alu?

Tension recommendation for a TOPSPIN CYBER FLASH 17L (1.20) main & GOSEN MICRO 17 (1.22) cross tennis string
I use a HEAD MICROGEL RADICAL MIDPLUS racquet (18×20 string pattern) racquet.
I personally use 58 tension for a full synthetic job.
I’m trying this hybrid for the first time and not sure about the tension to use coz different strings with different gauges have their own particular range of tension recommendation
This seriously all depends on you. And you aren’t really going to know until you try. With most strings though, just stick within the frame’s recommended tension range. There are a few strings that say to add 10% due to tension loss. But you can’t really add 10% when you don’t know what you’ll want to start with.
Finding the right string job/tension combo is a long process, that requires lots of tweaking along the way. Since it’s what you’re used to, I’d start with that 58lb tension. Then you can decide if you like it, or if something needs to change. If you need more power, string a bit looser. For more control, go a bit tighter.
But this being a hybrid set, things are a little more complicated. Some people use a slightly different tension for the mains than the crosses. It’ll just take some experimenting and evaluating to find what’s best for you.
