Help with quirky Payment Model for business with multiple locations?
1. My client offers tennis instruction through his staff of instructors.
2. These instructors teach at over 80 Park District locations spread throughout a 40 mile radius in a large metropolitan area.
3. We now have our marketing mix and website optimized to drive business.
4. The arrangement (which will not change) is that attendees of these classes pay the individual park districts for their lessons and then the park district will pay my client.
Question:
Is there a simple way we can we offer online payments, the route those payment to each individual park district through our website so we don’t have to give up the prospect at the point of purchase?
First, functionally you can flip the pay model and do it easily. However, the thing you need to worry about is if the different districts are going to be amenable to this change in arrangement. If you can negotiate the change you can change the model.
There is a new service called Square, which was founded by the brillian Jack Dorsey who also co-founded Twitter. The service turns smart phones into credit card processing machines, so as long as the tennis instructors have smart phones they can process payments anywhere they get service. That will route the payments directly to your client I am reasonably certain a novice user of quickbooks can route the payments where they need to go from there.
